Okay, so I wanted to get ahead of the game for the 2024 MIAA hockey brackets. I’m a huge high school hockey fan, and I always like to try and predict how the tournament will shake out. Here’s how I went about it this year.
Scouring the Web for Info
First thing I did was hit up the usual spots online. You know, just trying to get a feel for which teams were looking strong this season. I spent a good chunk of time looking at scores.
Checking Out Team Records and Rankings
Next, I dove into team records. Wins and losses are obviously important, but I also wanted to see who teams were playing. A team with a weaker schedule might have an inflated record, you know? I also checked out any rankings I could find, just to get a sense of what other people were thinking.
Trying to Figure Out Potential Matchups
This is where it gets tricky. With the regular season wrapped up, I started trying to piece together potential matchups. The MIAA has their own system for seeding, so I wasn’t 100% sure how it would all play out, but I tried my best to make some educated guesses.
- Looked at each division.
- Checked out the top teams by record and ranking.
- Tried to estimate where each team might fall in the bracket.
Making My Predictions (and Probably Being Wrong)
Finally, I put my “expertise” to the test and made my predictions. I filled out my own bracket, trying to guess who would win each game. It’s all just for fun, of course, and I’m sure I’ll be wrong about a bunch of games. But hey, that’s part of the excitement, right?
Important Note: These are my predictions. don’t take them to seriously!
Waiting for the Official Brackets
Now comes the hard part: waiting! It’s always a bit of a nail-biter until the official brackets are released. Then we’ll see how close (or, more likely, how far off) my predictions were! Bring on the tournament!
