Okay, so yesterday I decided to finally check out a Michigan Football pep rally. I’ve heard about them for years, but never actually went. Let me tell you, it was an experience!
Getting There
First off, I decided to go last minute. Like, really last minute. I saw a post on social media about it, checked the time, and realized it was starting soon. So I grabbed my keys and ran out the door.
Parking, as expected, was a bit crazy. I ended up circling the block a few times before I found a spot that was probably a little too far away, but hey, I was desperate! I hoofed it over to the area where the rally was supposed to be.
The Pep Rally Experience
- The Crowd: Total madness! Everyone was decked out in maize and blue. So much energy, so many people! I squeezed my way through the crowd, trying to get a decent view.
- The Music: The band was playing all the classic fight songs. I mean, you can’t not get pumped up when you hear “The Victors” blaring. I definitely found myself singing along, even though I only know half the words.
- The Cheerleaders: They were doing their thing, getting everyone hyped. Honestly, those girls have some serious skills. I watched them, and I was so impressive!
- The Speakers: Some former players and coaches came out to speak. They talked about the team, the season, and of course, the upcoming game. Everyone cheered like crazy.
The Atmosphere
The whole thing was just electric. I felt like I was part of something bigger than myself. Total strangers were high-fiving each other, everyone was chanting, and the energy was just contagious. I even got a free t-shirt that some guy was tossing into the crowd!
I don’t regret that I went to there.
Wrapping Up
By the time it was over, I was hoarse from yelling, but totally energized. I walked back to my car, feeling that good kind of tired.
Would I go again? Absolutely! In fact, I’m already planning on going to the next one. It was way more fun than I expected, and a perfect way to get ready for the game. Go Blue!
