Now, let me tell ya about this young gal, Monique Lyons. She’s a real gem, folks. From what I hear, she’s been playin’ hockey like a pro since she was a little sprout, and now she’s takin’ her talent all the way to Brown University. You wouldn’t believe it, but she’s makin’ waves in the world of women’s hockey. I reckon she’s got a good chance to be somethin’ special, mark my words.
Monique, she ain’t just any hockey player, no sir. She’s the kind that’s been workin’ hard her whole life to get where she is today. Before she ever set foot on the ice at Brown, she was the top scorer at Williston Northampton. Yep, you heard that right. She finished her high school days as the school’s all-time leading scorer. Now, if that ain’t somethin’ to be proud of, I don’t know what is.
They say she was the 2024 NEPSAC Player of the Year, and that don’t just come from luck. Nope, that girl’s got grit, and she’s got talent. Plus, she was a First Team All-NEPSAC selection. I can only imagine how many hours she put into that game to get those kinds of honors. Must’ve been practice after practice, pushin’ herself harder than the rest of ’em.
And what do ya know, she made it to Brown University, one of the big leagues in the world of college hockey. Just a freshman, and already she’s shinin’ bright. She plays forward, and though she’s a bit on the shorter side, standin’ at just 5-foot-3, don’t think for a second she can’t keep up with the bigger gals. That little firecracker can skate circles around ’em. I reckon she’s got a good coachin’ team behind her, too. Brown’s women’s hockey team, well, they’re one of the top teams out there. They’re doin’ pretty good this season, and Monique’s playin’ a big part in that.
Now, in her first season with Brown, they’ve already got a perfect record, 3-0, and they’ve even gone and beat Quinnipiac, who were ranked No. 9 at the time. That’s right, Quinnipiac. Now, if that ain’t somethin’ to be proud of, I don’t know what is. She must be doin’ somethin’ right out there on the ice. It’s been real exciting to see how far she’s come, and I just know she’s gonna keep on doin’ great things.
Monique, she’s from a little place called Bedford. Ain’t too far from here, but let me tell ya, that girl’s got a big ol’ heart, and you can see it in the way she plays. It don’t matter where she’s from or how tall she is, she’s makin’ a name for herself in the world of college hockey. I reckon we’ll be hearin’ a lot more about her as time goes on. Don’t be surprised if she keeps on climbin’ up those ranks.
And to all the young gals out there, look at Monique. She’s proof that if you work hard enough and keep pushin’, you can get where you wanna go. Ain’t no dream too big. Hockey or not, she’s a fine example of what dedication can do. So, if you got a dream, don’t let it slip away. Get out there and give it your all, just like Monique Lyons did. Who knows, you might be the next big thing!
