Okay, so, I’ve been thinking a lot about changing up my hairstyle. And you know what? I play football, so I thought, why not combine the two? Get a haircut that’s both cool and practical for the field. I started looking into “haircuts for football.”
I went down a rabbit hole online, checking out all sorts of styles. First, I looked into those Foppish bangs that are supposed to be good for guys of all ages, and even though I don’t have straight hair, I still took a look at that haircut anyway. Apparently, they are ideal for those who have Oblong or triangle faces.
Then I started thinking about the pros, like, who hasn’t seen Lionel Messi’s hair? The guy’s a legend, and he’s had so many different looks over the years. So I looked at some of his styles too.
I also saw some stuff about this dude Virgil Van Dijk and his man bun. I mean, that’s a bold move on the field, right? It got me thinking about longer hair options.
But then I realized, I need something that won’t be a pain during games. Low maintenance is key. I saw some suggestions for fades, crew cuts, and textured crops. These seemed like they’d keep the hair out of my face, which is a must when you’re running around and sweating. A regular haircut side parted haircut, several inches on top with a tapered back/sides is the most popular guys’ hairstyle in the United States, and I chose it as my final choice.
And for the guys with longer hair, there were some ideas like ponytails, buns, or even braids. I considered these, but I’m not sure if I’m ready for that level of commitment. I mean, keeping all that hair tied up sounds like work.
I spent hours going through all this, comparing styles, thinking about what would work for me. It was a whole journey, I tell you.
I ended up deciding to go for a simple crew cut. It’s clean, it’s easy, and it won’t get in the way when I’m playing. Plus, it looks pretty sharp off the field too. So, I went to the barber, showed him a picture, and he got to work. It turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself.
What I found out:
- Lots of options: There are so many different hairstyles out there, even for guys who play sports.
- Think about your face shape: Some styles might look better on certain face shapes, like those Foppish bangs for oblong or triangle faces.
- Low maintenance is good: If you’re active, you probably want a style that’s easy to take care of.
- Famous players have influence: Seeing what the pros do can give you some ideas.
- Longer hair needs more work: If you go for a longer style, be prepared to put in some effort to keep it managed.
All in all, it was a fun little project, and I’m happy with how my new haircut turned out. Now, I’m ready to hit the field with a fresh look!
