Well, let me tell ya about them New Bremen football boys! They play real hard, but sometimes it don’t go as planned. Last Friday, they was up against Minster, right here at home, but it didn’t turn out so good. Them Minster boys sure knew how to play, and they won with a big ol’ score of 48-14. Ouch, that hurt! The New Bremen boys fought hard, but it just wasn’t their night. Football’s a funny game, y’know? Some days you win, and some days, well, you lose.
Now, New Bremen’s football team, they’re not a bunch of quitters. Oh no! They’ve had their share of wins too. You gotta remember, they don’t always lose. Take the time they played against Warren JFK. You shoulda seen ’em then! The quarterback, David Homan, he ran like the wind, racking up 234 yards and scoring four touchdowns! They went on to win that one big time, 38-6! That was some game, I tell ya. Them boys sure know how to put on a show when they’re on fire.
In fact, New Bremen’s running game has been mighty strong these past years. I reckon it’s been one of the main reasons they’ve been so successful. Like I said, they set a new record in the state championship game. Can you believe it? They rushed a total of 287 yards! That’s somethin’ special, if ya ask me. They sure made their mark in that Division VII championship.
And speaking of that championship, them boys didn’t just win a game—they made history! It was a fine, fine game, and they showed just how tough they can be when they put their minds to it. That win made the whole town of New Bremen proud. Everybody was talkin’ about it for days, I reckon. They deserved that victory, every bit of it. Homan and his teammates really worked their tails off to get that win.
Now, I know some folks might look at the scores and think, “Oh, it’s just a game,” but it means a lot more than that to these boys. When you’re out there on that field, under them Friday night lights, you’re not just playin’ for the win. You’re playin’ for your town, your family, and everyone who’s watchin’ from the sidelines. Every touchdown, every tackle, every pass—it’s all part of what makes New Bremen proud of its team. And we should be proud, too!
And don’t go thinkin’ that New Bremen is always on the losing end now, no sir! Just the week before, they pulled off a win against Versailles, 14-7. That’s right, they came out on top, and the crowd was on their feet, cheerin’ and hollerin’ like nobody’s business. It was a tight game, but them boys held on and got the victory. That’s the kind of fightin’ spirit we like to see around here!
So, while some games don’t go the way we want, it don’t mean New Bremen’s football team is down and out. They’ll get back up and fight again, ‘cause that’s what they do. We all know it’s not just about the score—it’s about the heart, the effort, and the passion. And these boys got plenty of that. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see ‘em back on top next season!
There’s always next Friday, and New Bremen’s football team ain’t never give up. They’ll come back strong, you mark my words. We just gotta keep supportin’ ‘em, win or lose, ‘cause they’re always representin’ New Bremen in a big way!
