It’s a pretty big deal, especially if you’re a hockey fan like me. I mean, who doesn’t love watching those young guns rip around the ice? It’s always exciting to see the future of hockey develop, and New England’s got a ton of talent.
So, how do you find these tournaments? Well, there’s a whole bunch of organizations and leagues out there that host these events. Just like everything else nowadays, you can find most of the information online. Some of the big names in New England youth hockey include:
Massachusetts Hockey: This is the governing body for hockey in Massachusetts. They have a ton of tournaments scheduled throughout the year. It’s the place to go if you’re looking for a comprehensive list of sanctioned events.
New England Scholastic Hockey (NESC): These guys are big on high school hockey. They run a lot of tournaments, and they also have a pretty cool rivalry challenge. I’m talking about the New England Stats Rivalry Challenge – it’s a big deal for youth hockey players!
GMA Hockey: This organization hosts tournaments at the Jay Peak Resort Ice Haus. If you’re looking for a weekend getaway with some great hockey, this is a good option!
I’ve put together a little table to give you an overview of some upcoming tournaments:
Tournament Name | Dates | Age Groups | Location |
---|---|---|---|
NGHL Hockey | January 14-16, 2023 | 14U, 16U | Massachusetts |
New England Stats Rivalry Challenge | June 9-11, 2023 | 2006 | [Location is not available] |
GMA Hockey Tournaments | Fall/Winter | 10U-14U | Jay Peak Resort Ice Haus |
Now, if you’re looking for a more grassroots experience, England Hockey has a pretty cool program called In2Hockey. This program is designed for kids aged 10-14. It’s a great way for young players to learn the basics and develop their skills. England also has a nice structure with leagues for different age groups, ranging from U10s to U19s. Their season runs from September to May, so there’s plenty of time to get involved.
You know, watching youth hockey tournaments is a blast! I’m always impressed by the talent and enthusiasm of these young players. I’m sure you’ll have a great time cheering them on. I’m also curious – what are your favorite things about youth hockey tournaments? What are you looking forward to seeing this year? Let me know in the comments below!
