Well, I tell ya, folks, there’s a whole lotta talk ’bout New Oxford football these days. Every time I step outta the house, someone’s askin’ me about them boys in their uniforms runnin’ up and down that field. So, let me tell ya a bit about it, from what I’ve heard and seen, too, ’cause I ain’t one to let good talk go to waste.
Now, New Oxford, that’s a little ol’ place right there in Adams County, Pennsylvania. Not too big, not too small, but they sure do have a football team that makes a lotta noise. Those young fellas playin’ for the New Oxford Colonials, they got some spirit in ’em. Every Friday, folks gather up to cheer for ‘em. It’s a big deal around here, lemme tell ya.
Recently, I heard tellin’ about one of them games, way back on October 11, 2024, against West York. The team was battlin’ it out in the YAIAA Division II game. And you know what? New Oxford sure put up a fight! I saw a fella named Clayton Nieves out there, carryin’ the ball like he was born with it in his hands. I tell ya, that boy can run! And not far behind him, West York’s quarterback, Isaac Roberts, was tryin’ his best to throw that ball on the move, but it wasn’t easy. New Oxford had that defense in full gear, not lettin’ him get anywhere.
That game, it was somethin’ else! New Oxford showed ‘em what they got, even though they didn’t win. But you could tell they weren’t about to give up. Folks in New Oxford are proud of those boys, win or lose. It’s about heart, and they got plenty of it.
Now, if you’re wonderin’ what happened next, there was another game not too long ago, against Hershey. A real nail-biter, that one. New Oxford’s Ryan Vargas was all set to catch a pass, but just as he was ready, that ball went outta bounds. It was a tough loss, but that don’t stop the crowd from cheerin’ ‘em on. Them boys, they ain’t never backin’ down!
And let me tell ya, if you ever thought about followin’ the team’s schedule, well, don’t worry! They keep it all posted nice and neat, so you know when and where the games are. The Colonials, they’re sittin’ at 8-0 right now, and they’re 5-0 in their conference. That’s a mighty fine record, if you ask me!

Oh, and don’t think the coaches don’t play their part. Coach Jason Warner, he’s one of the main men behind the team’s success. I heard he got soaked with water after one of them wins—twice! They’re a team that’s on fire this season, and they’re makin’ their town proud.
Football ain’t just a game around here. It’s somethin’ that brings the whole town together. It don’t matter if you’re young or old, man or woman, you’re out there cheerin’ for them boys. I seen some of the biggest fans out there, all wearin’ them New Oxford colors and shoutin’ at the top of their lungs. It’s about pride, folks, and those Colonials have got it in spades!
So, if you’re ever around Adams County, you might wanna check out one of them games. I tell ya, there ain’t nothin’ like the energy and excitement of a New Oxford football game. And if you’re already followin’ ‘em, well, keep that cheer goin’, ‘cause those boys, they’re somethin’ special!
