Man, you wouldn’t believe the rabbit hole I went down today. I’m a huge college football fan, always have been, always will be. And lately, I’ve been feeling all nostalgic, thinking back to some of the glory days. So, what do I do? I decide to go digging for the 2015 Ohio State football roster. Why? I don’t know. Maybe I just wanted to remind myself how stacked that team was.
First, I hit up the usual spots – you know, the big sports websites. I figured they’d have it right there, easy peasy. But no such luck. I could find current rosters, sure, but going back to 2015? That was apparently ancient history to them. They had bits and pieces, articles mentioning some names, but nothing complete.
So, then I tried the Ohio State website. They must have it! But again, it was a pain to find it. I was clicking through menus, going through archives, and getting nowhere. It was like they were hiding it or something. I don’t know why these things aren’t easier to find. You’d think they’d want to showcase their past teams, especially one as good as the 2015 squad.
Digging Deeper
At this point, I wasn’t giving up. I started using different search terms, hoping to stumble upon something. I even tried some of those internet archive websites, but even those didn’t have the full roster. It was like trying to find a needle in a haystack, except the haystack was the entire internet.
Finally, after what felt like hours, I got a breakthrough. I stumbled upon an old forum post. Some dedicated fan, bless their heart, had compiled the whole darn roster from that year. It wasn’t pretty. It was just a plain text list, but it was complete.
The Roster
- Quarterbacks: Cardale Jones, J.T. Barrett, Braxton Miller (who later switched to wide receiver).
- Running Backs: Ezekiel Elliott, Curtis Samuel (who also played some wide receiver).
- Wide Receivers: Michael Thomas, Jalin Marshall, Corey Smith.
- Tight Ends: Nick Vannett, Marcus Baugh.
- Offensive Line: Taylor Decker, Pat Elflein, Billy Price.
- Defensive Line: Joey Bosa, Adolphus Washington, Tyquan Lewis.
- Linebackers: Darron Lee, Raekwon McMillan, Joshua Perry.
- Defensive Backs: Vonn Bell, Eli Apple, Gareon Conley.
It took way longer than it should have, but seeing all those names brought back so many memories. It just confirmed what I already knew: that 2015 Ohio State team was something special. I spent the rest of the afternoon looking up highlights and articles from that season. It was a fun trip down memory lane, even if it was a bit of a hassle to get there.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure for today. Maybe it wasn’t the most productive use of my time, but it made me happy, and that’s what matters, right? Next time I’m feeling nostalgic, maybe I’ll try to find another old roster. Or maybe I’ll just stick to watching current games. We’ll see.
