Okay, so, I got into this whole Olentangy basketball thing. Let me tell you, it was a journey. I’m not much of a sports guy, but my buddy kept bugging me to check out a game. Finally, I caved.
Getting There
First off, I had to figure out where the heck these games even happen. Turns out, they play at the local high school gym. I drove over, found a parking spot after circling a few times – place was packed!
The Game
I walked in, and the energy was crazy. The crowd was roaring, the band was playing, cheerleaders were, well, cheering. I grabbed a seat, not really knowing what to expect. The game started, and these kids were fast. They were running up and down the court, shooting, passing – it was a blur.
- I watched them dribble the ball.
- I saw them make some shots.
- I heard the coach yell a lot.
Figuring It Out
I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t know all the rules at first. But I started picking things up. Like, when someone gets the ball and doesn’t dribble, that’s traveling. And if you push someone, that’s a foul.
Getting Into It
By the second half, I was actually getting into it. I was cheering along with everyone else, even though I barely knew what was going on. Our team pulled ahead, and the crowd went wild. It was pretty exciting, I gotta admit.
The End
In the end, our team won! Everyone was high-fiving and celebrating. I even got caught up in it and gave a few high-fives myself. It was a good time. It was pretty fun to cheer for the team and watch them win. I think I’ll go to another game sometime. I realized that it was fun to watch a game, especially when you are there with the people.
So yeah, that’s my Olentangy basketball experience. It was way more fun than I expected. I might even become a regular. Who knows?
