Okay, so I wanted to keep better track of the Olympic basketball qualifiers, specifically the scores. I’m a huge basketball fan, and I didn’t want to miss a beat. Here’s how I went about it.
First, I searched for a good, reliable source. You know, there’s a lot of junk out there, and I wanted something I could trust. I needed something that would be updated regularly, too, because these games happen pretty fast.
Then I started checking the source I found frequently. Like, maybe a couple of times a day. I wanted to see if new scores were posted, and also just to get a feel for how the tournaments were progressing. It’s kind of exciting to see the numbers change and to imagine the games unfolding.
I decided to make a simple record. I grabbed a notebook. I’m old-school like that. I like writing things down. Anyway, I created sections for each tournament, and then under each one, I listed the games.
- Date of the game
- The two teams playing
- The final score
Each time I checked my source, I compared it to my notes. If there were new scores, I added them to my notebook. If there was a discrepancy (which thankfully didn’t happen often!), I double-checked everything to make sure I got it right.
My Simple System
It wasn’t fancy, but it worked. I mean my book looks mess, but I can find what I am lookking for. My handwritten notes felt more… real, somehow. It felt good to keep up with the games in this way, and it was satisfying to see my notebook fill up with scores. I didn’t miss a single game that I cared about.
At the end of this.I think it’s successful.
