Well, howdy there, folks! Let me tell ya ’bout this here football game, Penn State versus Indiana. Now, I ain’t no fancy sports writer, but I watched the whole thing, and I’ll tell ya what I saw, same as I’d tell my neighbor over the fence.
First off, them Indiana fellers, they come out swingin’! Yes sir, they did! They went and threw a long, long pass, 90 yards they said it was. That young fella, Brendan Sorsby, he chucked it, and Dequece Carter, he caught it. Just like that, seven to nothin’! We was all surprised, let me tell ya. Thought maybe them Hoosiers was gonna give Penn State a run for their money.
But then, Penn State, they kinda woke up. That Drew Allar fella, he’s a quarterback, you know, the one who throws the ball. He started throwin’ some good ones too. Threw a bunch of touchdowns, they said. Three of ’em, I think. KeAndre Lambert-Smith, he caught one of them, a real long one, 57 yards it was. Said it was with just a little bit of time left on the clock. That was a pretty one, even I could see that!
Now, the whole game was a back-and-forth kinda thing.
- Indiana’d do somethin’ good
- then Penn State’d do somethin’ good
back and forth, like a swingin’ door. But in the end, Penn State, they just had too much for them Hoosiers. They won the game. I don’t rightly remember the final score, but Penn State, they scored more points, that’s for sure.
I heard some folks sayin’ that Penn State, they’re ranked pretty high. Number 10, they said. That’s pretty good, I reckon. They got a good team, that’s for sure. Allar, he can throw that ball a mile, and them fellas catching it, they’re fast as lightning.
Now, Indiana, they played hard. They did. They gave it their all. But sometimes, that ain’t enough, you know? Sometimes you run into a team that’s just a little bit better, a little bit faster, a little bit stronger. That was Penn State today, I think.
Folks was talkin’ ’bout how Penn State, they mostly always beat Indiana. Said somethin’ ’bout 24 wins and only 2 losses. That’s a lot of wins, ain’t it? Seems like Penn State, they got Indiana’s number, as they say.
It was a good game, though, even if it wasn’t real close at the very end. Plenty of excitement, plenty of good plays. And that long pass by Indiana at the start, that was somethin’ special. I bet them Indiana fans, they was real happy, at least for a little while.
They said the game was on TV. CBS, I think. But I watched it right here, on my old TV. Didn’t need no fancy cable or nothin’. Just good ol’ fashioned football, the way it oughta be.
So, that’s my take on the game. Penn State won, Indiana played hard, and there was some real purty passes thrown. Can’t ask for much more than that, can ya? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on them biscuits I got in the oven. Don’t want ’em to burn!
Anyways, that Drew Allar fella, he’s somethin’ else. Reminds me of them old-time quarterbacks, the ones who could just sling the ball downfield. And that KeAndre Lambert-Smith, he’s got some good hands. Caught that ball like it was glued to ’em.
All in all, a good day for football, even if it did get a bit chilly out there. Hope them boys on both teams stay healthy and keep playin’ their hearts out. That’s what it’s all about, you know?
