Well now, lemme tell ya ’bout this here East Potomac Tennis place. It’s a big ol’ tennis place down by the water, they call it Hains Point, in that there Washington city.
Lots of Tennis Courts
I hear tell it’s one of the biggest tennis places around. They got courts inside and courts outside, so you can play rain or shine, I reckon. Anybody can go there and play, long as you pay, I guess. Don’t know how much it costs, but it can’t be too much, can it? All sorts of folks go there, young’uns and old-timers, just like me! Only I don’t play no tennis, my joints ain’t what they used to be.
- They got outdoor courts, so you can get some sun on your face while you’re hittin’ that little yellow ball.
- And if it’s rainin’ or too hot, they got indoor courts too. That’s mighty convenient, I’d say.
Where it’s At and When You Can Go
Now, this place is on Ohio Drive, in that there East Potomac Park. That’s a National Park, you know, like them fancy parks they got. You can see that big tall monument thing, the Washington Monument, right from there. Pretty sight, I hear. I ain’t never seen it myself, but folks say it’s somethin’ special.
They’re open pretty much all day and all night, from mornin’ till evenin’, ‘cept for them holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. They gotta rest sometime, I suppose. But mostly, you can go play tennis whenever you feel like it. Just check the times, they might change sometimes.
Learn to Play, if You Don’t Know How
If you don’t know how to play this here tennis game, they got folks there that’ll teach ya. They give lessons, they call ’em. I guess they show you how to hold that racket thing and hit the ball over the net. Sounds complicated to me, but I guess it ain’t so hard once you get the hang of it.
A Place for Tennis Lovers
Seems like a lot of folks who like tennis go to this East Potomac place. They even got a whole group, called TennisDC, that gets together and plays there. Just folks who like hittin’ that there ball around, I s’pose. They seem to have a good time, laughin’ and runnin’ around. Good for them, I say. Gets the blood pumpin’, keeps you young.
Easy to Find
The address is 1090 Ohio Drive SW, Washington, DC, 20024. Or you can find it at 1500 Buckeye Dr SW, Washington, DC 20024, see, folks get confused on this, they use two different addresses, I don’t know why. But you just go down to Hains Point, you can’t miss it. Big place with lots of tennis courts. Just ask anybody, they’ll point you in the right direction.
My Thoughts on It
Now, I ain’t never played tennis in my life. But this East Potomac Tennis place seems like a good place to go if you do. It’s got everything you need: lots of courts, lessons if you need ’em, and a bunch of other folks who love the game. And it’s in a purdy spot, too, down by the water with a view. So if you’re lookin’ for a place to play tennis in Washington, you might wanna check out this here East Potomac Tennis place.
And that’s all I know about it. Just a big ol’ tennis place down by the water, where folks go to have a good time. Nothin’ wrong with that, I say. Nothin’ wrong with a little fun now and then.
