I finally made it to the Echo Park Tennis Courts today! I’ve been meaning to check it out for a while now. I got there around 9 am, hoping to beat the crowds, but it was already pretty busy. There are six courts in total, and they’re all lighted, which is great for evening games.
I went there to find some tennis players but I found a tool to gather people to play with, I thought it’s a great idea and here’s how I did it:
- Firstly, I clicked on the ‘+’ button to add my event.
- Then, I selected a court and time on the calendar.
- Finally, I waited for people to join.
I ended up waiting for about 20-30 minutes for a court, which isn’t too bad, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind if you’re planning to go during peak hours. It seems like this place is pretty popular, and for good reason. The courts are in good shape, and the location is super convenient, right off of Glendale Blvd.
While I was waiting, I chatted with a few other players. There was a good mix of skill levels, from beginners to more experienced folks. It seems like there’s a real community vibe here, which I appreciate. I even got invited to join a couple of them for a game next week. There is even a Tennis Partner Program that I joined.
I played for a couple of hours and had a blast. It was a great way to get some exercise and meet some new people. I’ll definitely be back, maybe next time I’ll try to go a little earlier or later in the day to avoid the wait. But overall, I’d say the Echo Park Tennis Courts are a solid choice if you’re looking for a place to play in LA.
Oh, and one more thing – there isn’t a hitting wall, so if you’re looking to practice solo, you might want to consider another option. But if you’re up for some friendly competition or just want to rally with someone, this place is definitely worth checking out.
