Okay, so, I’ve been digging into the world of college tennis lately, and today’s adventure was all about checking out the Princeton women’s tennis team. I wanted to know their schedule for the coming seasons, like, who they are playing, and when.
First, I started with a broad search to get the official schedule. I bumped into a couple of different versions, one for 2023-24, another for 2024-25, and even saw some older ones like the 2022-23 schedule. It looks like they keep these updated on some sports websites or something. Each schedule listed their upcoming matches and some results from past games. It was pretty neat to see all that laid out.
Then, I noticed that Princeton is part of the Ivy League. That’s a big deal in college sports. So, I looked specifically for their Ivy League schedule to see how they stacked up against other schools in their conference. This gave me a better idea of their competitive matches for the year.
After that, I stumbled upon something about team rankings. Apparently, there’s this group called the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) that ranks teams. I found out that the Princeton men’s team was ranked number 36 in 2024, which is pretty cool. It made me wonder where the women’s team stood, but I couldn’t find their exact ranking at that moment. They mentioned that the men’s team had a 22-8 overall record and a 5-2 record in Ivy League play. Sounds like they had a solid season!
I also took a peek at their social media. They have an Instagram page with a bunch of followers and posts. It’s fun to see the team’s updates and some behind-the-scenes stuff. They call themselves “DefendTheJad” and have won the Ivy League title 16 times. You can tell they’re really proud of their history and achievements.
Lastly, I learned a bit about the Princeton Club Tennis Team. It’s cool because they have options for both competitive and casual players. You have to try out for the competitive team, but anyone can join the recreational team. Both teams practice a few times a week, which is awesome for anyone looking to play tennis at Princeton, no matter their skill level.
So, that’s pretty much what I did today to find out about the Princeton women’s tennis schedule and a bit more about their tennis program. It was cool to see how much info is out there and how active and successful the team is.
