Lord knows, kids these days need somethin’ to keep ’em busy.
How Do You Join?
Now, they say you can sign up online. Can ya believe that? Sign up for football on that computery thing! Back in my day, you just showed up at the field and said, “Hey, I wanna play!” But times change, I guess. They say it’s easy, though. You just sit in your own house, clickety-clack on them buttons, and boom, you’re signed up. They say it’s real convenient, but I dunno. Seems kinda impersonal to me. But hey, if it gets the kids playin’, I ain’t complainin’.
Where Do They Play?
Well, they gotta be playin’ somewhere in Troy, right? It’s called the Troy Titans, after all. I reckon they got a field somewhere, maybe at the school, maybe at a park. They probably practice there too. Runnin’ around, throwin’ that ball, gettin’ all sweaty. Kids love that kinda stuff. It’s good for ’em, too. Keeps ’em healthy, teaches ’em teamwork. Handy, I guess, if you’re movin’ to a new place and don’t know where to sign up your kid. I reckon these Troy Titans are part of somethin’ like that. Gotta be organized, ya know? Can’t just have kids runnin’ around willy-nilly. Need some rules, some grown-ups keepin’ an eye on things.
Troy Trojans vs. Troy Titans?
Now, don’t get confused, there’s also somethin’ called the Troy Trojans. That’s the college team, at Troy University. Big boys, playin’ on TV and all that. The Titans, that’s the young’uns. Different thing altogether. But they both got that Troy name, so I guess they represent the town in their own way. Gotta be proud of your town, ya know? Whether you’re a little Titan or a big Trojan.
What About Other Teams?
And then there’s this Tennessee Titans team, too. Heard they’re pretty good, but they’re professionals. Playin’ in the big leagues. That’s a whole ‘nother world. Our little Troy Titans ain’t playin’ against them, that’s for sure. But hey, maybe one day, some of them kids will grow up and play for the Tennessee Titans. You never know. Gotta dream big, right?
Cheerleaders Too!
Oh, and don’t forget the cheerleaders! Them little girls are out there shakin’ their pom-poms and yellin’ their hearts out. Gotta have cheerleaders, right? Makes it more fun, more excitin’. And it gives the girls somethin’ to do, too. Not every kid wants to play football, ya know? Some wanna dance and cheer and support the team. That’s important, too. It takes all kinds.
Why Football?
So why football? Well, it’s a good way for kids to get some exercise, learn some discipline, make some friends. Teaches ’em how to win, how to lose, how to work together. Keeps ’em outta trouble, like I said. And it’s fun! Kids love runnin’ around, throwing that ball, tryin’ to score a touchdown. It’s just good, clean fun. And that’s what it’s all about, ain’t it?
