Okay, so today I wanted to keep better track of some tennis matches, specifically involving Russian players. I’ve been following a few, and it’s getting hard to remember all the scores. So I thought, “Let’s build something simple.” I’m not a coder, but I figured I could hack something together.
First, I grabbed my notebook – yeah, a real, paper notebook. Sometimes it’s just faster to jot things down. I listed the players I wanted to follow: Medvedev, Rublev, Khachanov… you know, the usual suspects.
My Little Experiment
- Step 1: The Manual Approach. I started by just writing down the scores as I saw them. I’d flip between different websites, and sometimes the live scores were a little delayed. It was messy, but it worked… sort of.
It turns out the simple method, just good old pen and paper or use note-taking app, is enough for me.
I quickly realized that just writing names and numbers wasn’t very helpful a few hours later. I needed more context! So I started adding the tournament name and the round (like “Roland Garros, Quarterfinals”). That made a HUGE difference.
After doing this, I feel good.
