Alright, so I’ve been meaning to get back into following local sports, and what better way to start than with some good old high school football? I decided to check out what’s up with the Santa Rosa Panthers. I remember them having some good seasons a while back, but I haven’t really kept up.
Getting Started
First thing I did was hit up the internet to see what info I could find. I checked out a few local sports pages, like The Press Democrat, to get a feel for how the team’s been doing. I saw that last season they finished 2-8 and were sixth in the NBL-Oak. Not the best record, but it gave me a starting point.
Diving Deeper
Next, I wanted to see if I could find their schedule and roster. I figured the school’s website might have something, but I also found some good info on those general sports news sites. They usually have pretty up-to-date schedules and sometimes even player profiles. I was able to get a list of their games for this season, which was awesome.
Checking Out Recent Games
I also looked into some recent game results. I read that they had a big rivalry game against Petaluma and managed to win, bringing the War Club trophy back to Santa Rosa for the first time since 2018! That’s gotta be a huge morale booster for the team.
Following the Action
It looks like September is almost over, but the football season is just heating up. I saw that they are going into more critical district play and regional games, so every game is going to be important from now on. I’m planning to keep an eye on their scores and see how they progress through the rest of the season.
Looking Ahead
- I’m going to try and catch a game in person soon. There’s nothing like the atmosphere of a Friday night football game.
- I also want to learn more about some of the players. Maybe I’ll see if there are any local articles or interviews with them.
- It’s going to be fun to follow the Panthers and see if they can make a good run this year!
Anyway, that’s my little adventure into the world of Santa Rosa high school football. It’s been cool getting back into it, and I’m excited to see how the season unfolds.
