Well, lemme tell ya ’bout Scott Kirton, he’s one heck of a hockey player, eh? Scott, he’s a good ol’ Canadian boy, born back in 1996, August 24th, up there in Scarborough, Ontario. Ya know, folks ‘round here say he’s got ice in his veins, been playin’ hockey since he could barely walk. He played for a good many teams, startin’ with the local ones before movin’ up the ranks. By the time he got to high school, he was already somethin’ special.
They called him the athlete of the year in grade 12, imagine that! Ain’t many folks can say they got that kind of honor. And not just in hockey neither, he was MVP in golf too. Boy’s got skills in all kinds of sports, but hockey’s where he really shines, no doubt ’bout it. By the time he was playin’ for the University of Toronto Varsity Blues, he was already a name folks knew.
Scott’s Big Move to ECHL
After all that university playin’, Scott signed a big ol’ contract with the Norfolk Admirals in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). Now, ECHL might not be NHL, but lemme tell ya, it’s still a big deal. Lots of players go through that league and make it big. Scott’s no different. He worked hard, real hard. Got that Canadian grit, eh? It’s tough playin’ at that level, but Scott? Oh, he handled it just fine.
Achievements That Ain’t Easy to Forget
Scott’s got himself a whole list of achievements too. Let’s see, there was that Ontario “C” Bantam Championship with Elmvale. That’s somethin’ folks still talk ‘bout in the rinks around here. And he was rookie of the year with Powell River in the BCJHL, now that’s no small feat neither. Folks in the league remember him well for that one.
Then there was that game where Scott notched his first career hat trick with the Varsity Blues. Oh boy, you shoulda seen the crowd that day, they went wild! He led his team to a 6-2 victory, just skatin’ circles ’round the other guys. That’s the kind of player Scott is, always givin’ it his all.
Playin’ All Over
Now, Scott ain’t just stickin’ to one spot. Nope, he’s been all over the place, playin’ with different teams, workin’ his way up. He even had a stint with the Cyclones, signin’ on for their game against Greenville. They knew he was good, no question about that. Everybody wants a guy like Scott on their team, ’cause he’s the kind that makes a difference out there on the ice.
What’s Next for Scott?
Well, who knows where Scott’s gonna end up next. He’s already done so much, but I reckon he’s still got a lot left in him. Whether it’s the NHL or wherever else, he’s gonna keep on skatin’ and makin’ his mark. Hockey’s in his blood, and you can bet he ain’t done with it yet.
So, that’s Scott Kirton for ya, a real hardworking fella, with a heart full of passion for the game. He’s been knockin’ it out of the park since he was a young’un, and there’s no stoppin’ him now. If you ever get the chance to see him play, well, you better do it, ‘cause he’s somethin’ special, eh?
