Okay, so, I recently got this crazy idea to check out the tennis scene at Seton Hall University. I’m no Serena Williams, but I enjoy hitting the ball around, and I thought, “Why not see what’s up at Seton Hall?”
First, I tried to dig up some info about their tennis program. I found out that it’s called the Seton Hall University Pirates. Not gonna lie, the name kinda hyped me up! I went through their website, looking at the 2024-25 Women’s Tennis Roster. It was cool to see all the players and their profiles. I wasn’t really looking to join, but still felt like browsing.
Then, I got curious about how one would even join the team. There’s this form you gotta fill out. They ask about your friends in the tennis world and whether you’re cleared by the NCAA. It was all so official, it made me feel like I was about to step into some big-time tennis operation.
While I was poking around, I learned about their facilities. They have this place called the Richie Regan Recreation & Athletics Center. I didn’t go there, but I read that it’s the main hub for all the sports stuff at Seton Hall. Apparently, they did some upgrades in 2014, so I bet it’s pretty swanky.
I also stumbled upon some info about athletic scholarships. There’s this whole portal called NCSA where you can find out about getting money to play tennis at Seton Hall. That would’ve been a dream come true back in my high school days. Not that I was good enough, but hey, a girl can dream, right?
Lastly, I checked out their coaching staff. It’s a whole list of coaches dedicated to the women’s tennis team. It made me realize how serious they are about their tennis program. I mean, it’s a whole team of professionals guiding these players.
My Impressions
- The whole process seemed pretty intense, even just from an outsider’s perspective.
- It’s clear that Seton Hall takes their tennis seriously, with all the resources they have.
- I ended up just playing a casual game with a friend at a local park, but it was fun to imagine being part of a real college team.
So yeah, that was my little adventure into the world of Seton Hall University tennis. It was more of a virtual exploration than anything else, but it was interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes of a college sports program. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll actually go watch a match there. For now, I’m happy with my casual park games, no pressure, just fun.
