Well, now, lemme tell ya somethin’ about them Clemson football thingamajigs, whatchamacallits…memorabilia, they call it. Folks sure do like collectin’ stuff, don’t they? Like them young’uns collectin’ rocks, ‘cept this here is about football.
Clemson Football stuff, it’s a big deal, y’know. Heard tell they got a whole heap of deals with them football fellas, more’n any other kinda player at that school. Someone told me, sounded like a smart fella, said somethin’ about “NIL” deals. Said more’n half them deals was with the football boys. That’s a lot of deals, I reckon. Must be some good players, or maybe folks just like buyin’ their stuff, who knows.
- Jerseys, I guess that’s what they call ‘em. Them shirts with the numbers and all.
- Hats, the kind ya wear on yer head to keep the sun outta yer eyes. They got all sorts of them.
- Pictures, too. Pictures of the fellas runnin’ and jumpin’ and doin’ whatever it is they do on that there field.
- And rings! Oh, them rings! They somethin’ special, I hear. They got all sorts a meanin’, somethin’ about the land and soldiers and all them folks what went to that school before. Sound fancy, don’t it?
Now, where d’ya get this stuff? Well, I ain’t never bought none myself, but I hear tell there’s places, big places and small, where ya can find it. Some folks even sell it online, on that there computery thing. Says they got a big ol’ pile of it, whatever yer lookin’ for, they probably got it.
And they say it’s the real deal, too. Not some fakey stuff made in some foreign country. They promise ya, say it’s “authentic,” whatever that means. And if it ain’t, they say they’ll give ya yer money back. That’s good, I reckon. Don’t want nobody gettin’ cheated, that ain’t right.
They even got folks writin’ about this stuff, tellin’ ya what’s good and what ain’t. Sorta like them recipes in the newspaper, tellin’ ya how to make a good cake. Only this here’s about football stuff, not cakes. And they’ll even bring it right to your door, no need to go traipsin’ all over town lookin’ for it. That’s handy, ‘specially for us old folks who don’t get around so good no more.
And if ya wanna make yer own stuff, well, I guess ya can do that too. Heard tell there’s places sellin’ all sorts of stuff for makin’ things, like thread and needles and whatnot. Ya could sew yerself a jersey, I guess, or maybe make a nice little picture frame for one of them photos. The sky’s the limit, they say, though I ain’t never seen nobody touch the sky, seems to me like a tall tale.
So, there ya have it. A whole lotta talk about Clemson football stuff. Don’t know why folks like it so much, but they do. Must be somethin’ special about it, somethin’ more than just a bunch of shirts and hats and rings. Maybe it’s about the memories, ya know? Remindin’ folks of them good ol’ days, watchin’ them fellas runnin’ and jumpin’ and winnin’ games. Yeah, that’s probably it. It’s all about the memories.
