I’ve been meaning to organize my garage, and those tennis rackets were always in the way. So, I decided to build a simple storage rack for them. Nothing fancy, just something to keep them off the floor and out of the way.
Getting Started
First, I measured the rackets to figure out how much space I needed. Then, I took a quick look around for some scrap wood. Found a few decent pieces in the corner, leftover from that old bookshelf project.
Next, I sketched out a basic design. Just a couple of horizontal pieces to hold the rackets and some vertical supports. I wanted something simple and functional, you know?
Building the Rack
I grabbed my saw and cut the wood to the sizes I needed. Nothing precise, just eyeballing it, really. Then, I sanded down the edges a bit so nobody gets any splinters.
After that, I screwed the horizontal pieces to the vertical supports. It was a bit wobbly at first, so I added a couple of extra supports in the middle. That seemed to do the trick.
- Measured rackets.
- Found some scrap wood.
- Cut wood to size.
- Sanded edges.
- Screwed pieces together.
- Added extra supports.
The Finished Product
And that’s pretty much it! It’s not the prettiest thing in the world, but it does the job. The rackets are now neatly stored on the wall, and I’ve got a bit more space in the garage. It took a short time, but I finished it. I feel so great. I think I will make something like this more!
It is not that hard to make it. So I really recommend you guys make it. If you’ve got any questions or suggestions, feel free to shout out in the comments!
