Well now, if you ask me about St. Mark’s hockey, I’d tell ya it’s a team you gotta keep an eye on. Back in 2014, a feller by the name of Coach Corazzini, he took over as head coach. Now, let me tell ya, this man, he ain’t no stranger to the ice. He’s from St. Sebastian’s, and he went all the way to Boston University. Played there too, I reckon. He was a captain there, so he knows what he’s doin’. Under his watch, the St. Mark’s hockey team has been growin’ and gettin’ better each year, I’d say. They’ve been rackin’ up wins, and that don’t happen by accident. It takes a good coach and a team that’s willin’ to give it their all.
Now, these boys play in the USHS-Prep league, which means they’re up against some tough competition. But I’ll tell ya what, they hold their own. I remember last season, St. Mark’s finished with a record of 22 wins, 6 losses, and 1 tie. That ain’t too shabby for a prep school team, is it? These boys know how to skate, how to shoot, and most importantly, how to work together as a team.
And let’s not forget about the players themselves. Over the years, I’ve seen some mighty fine talent come through St. Mark’s. These young fellas, they don’t just play for the fun of it, no sir. They play to win. At the Mass. Hockey Festival, I hear they had 17 players to keep an eye on. Now, if that don’t get ya excited, I don’t know what will. They’re always lookin’ for the next big star, and you can bet St. Mark’s has had more than a few. I reckon you might see some of these boys go on to play for bigger teams down the road.
But it ain’t just about the boys on the ice. St. Mark’s, well, they got a whole lotta support behind ’em. There’s a lotta folks followin’ the team, keepin’ up with the scores, and cheerin’ ’em on. They got over 1,400 followers, so you know there’s folks who care about their success. And it’s no surprise, really. When you got a good coach and a bunch of dedicated players, the fans will follow.
Now, what can you expect when you watch St. Mark’s play? Well, you better expect a fast game. These boys are quick, they’re sharp, and they know how to move the puck. You ain’t gonna see any lazy playin’ here, that’s for sure. They’re gonna come at ya hard, whether they’re up by a goal or down by a few. They got heart, and that’s what counts when you’re playin’ hockey.
And if you think it’s all about individual skill, you’d be wrong. St. Mark’s hockey is a team effort, plain and simple. The boys work together like a well-oiled machine, passin’ the puck, coverin’ for each other, and makin’ sure the goalie’s got their back. It’s a real thing of beauty to watch, if you ask me.
