So, I decided to check out the 2023 state hockey tournament. Man, it was something else. Let me tell you all about it.
First off, I had to get my hands on some tickets. I heard they were selling tickets for the Perth Thundersticks season, and I thought, “Why not?” This was my chance to see some of the best in action, you know? So, I went ahead and got my tickets. I figured it’s gonna be worth it.
The tournament was held at the Marrara Hockey Centre, from April 15th to 21st. A whole week of hockey action! I marked my calendar and made sure I was free those days. I mean, who would wanna miss this, right?
Now, I’m a big fan of watching things live, so I found out about LIVEHockey. It’s this cool platform where you can stream national and state hockey events live. I made a mental note to check that out in case I couldn’t make it to all the games. Always good to have a backup plan, isn’t it?
As the days got closer, I started seeing news about the 2023 Hockey Australia Masters Championships kicking off in Perth. This made me even more excited. It’s like the whole city was buzzing with hockey fever, and I was right in the middle of it.
Then came the news about where the 2023 national hockey calendar was taking place – Queensland, New South Wales, and the Northern Territory. I thought about maybe making a little trip out of it, but in the end, I decided to stick to the state tournament. There’s always next year, I guess.
I also heard that the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras were gonna be playing. These guys are like the superstars of Australian hockey. Turns out, Australia was hosting these mini-tournaments as part of the FIH Pro League. I even saw something about getting tickets for the FIH Pro League’s return to Australia. It’s been two years since they last played here, so that was a big deal.
