So, I’ve been working on this project related to the Stonehill hockey rink, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the journey. I wanted to share my experience, from start to finish, and maybe give you all a glimpse into what it takes to get something like this off the ground.
Getting Started
First off, I had to do a ton of research. I mean, where do you even begin with building a hockey rink? I started by checking out existing facilities. The Bridgewater Ice Arena was a big one – it’s home to the Stonehill Men’s and Women’s Hockey teams. They have a dedicated locker room, and the facility boasts two NHL-sized rinks. That gave me a good benchmark.
Planning and More Planning
Then came the planning phase. I learned that Stonehill is actually in the early stages of planning a new hockey rink and basketball court. This was exciting news! I dug deeper into what makes a good rink. Turns out, the location is key. This public rink I researched is about 12 miles from the Stonehill campus and also has two NHL-sized rinks. This just confirmed the need for accessibility and top-notch facilities.
Digging into the Details
I stumbled upon some interesting discussions online. Some folks were saying Stonehill might be a good fit for the AHA, comparing it to LIU’s situation a couple of years ago. It seems like adding hockey is a big deal and needs careful consideration. Also, I found out that Saint Anselm and Simon Fraser are on their schedule twice. What a coincidence!
The Practical Steps
On a more practical note, I looked into how one actually books ice time. It seemed pretty straightforward. Follow these 4 EASY STEPS, and boom, you’re good to go. I followed the steps to see the process myself and took some notes.
- Step 1: I chose the date first.
- Step 2: Then, I selected the time slot I wanted.
- Step 3: I reviewed the booking details, making sure everything was correct.
- Step 4: Finally, I confirmed and scheduled it. It was all set.
Wrapping Up
It’s been a whirlwind of information and planning. From understanding the importance of a dedicated locker room, like the one at Bridgewater Ice Arena, to realizing the strategic significance of location and scheduling, every detail matters. I even got a sneak peek into the booking process, which was surprisingly simple. Who knew it was just 4 EASY STEPS? And I also knew about the future plan of Stonehill hockey rink. This is the key.
This whole process has been a real eye-opener. Hope you all enjoyed this little behind-the-scenes look at my Stonehill hockey rink project.
