Alright, so I decided to finally get my act together and improve my tennis game. I’ve been playing on and off for years, but never really got serious about it. So, I started looking for a coach, and that’s how I stumbled upon Binh Huynh. Let me tell you about the whole experience.
Finding Binh
First, I searched around online, you know, the usual “tennis coaches near me” kind of thing. I checked out a few websites and read some reviews. Binh’s name kept popping up, and people seemed pretty happy with his coaching. He had a decent online presence, which made it easy to get a feel for his style.
The First Contact
I decided to send him an email. Nothing fancy, just a quick intro about myself, my (lack of) skills, and what I was hoping to achieve. He got back to me pretty quickly, which was a good sign. We chatted a bit about my goals and his approach, and it all felt pretty chill and professional.
The Initial Assessment
We booked a first session, basically an assessment. I was a bit nervous, not gonna lie. I showed up at the court, and Binh was already there, setting up. We did some warm-up drills, and then he had me hit some balls. He watched my form (or lack thereof!), my footwork, everything.
After a while, he gave me some initial feedback. He was super encouraging, pointing out what I was doing right, but also clearly explained the areas I needed to work on. No sugarcoating, but also not harsh. It was exactly what I needed.
The Training Sessions
We started having regular sessions after that. He broke things down into manageable chunks. We worked on my serve, my forehand, my backhand – the whole shebang. He introduced me to different drills that were actually kind of fun, even though they were challenging.
He really emphasized the fundamentals – proper grip, footwork, body positioning. Stuff I thought I knew, but clearly didn’t. He used a lot of visual cues and demonstrations, which really helped me “get it”.
- One thing I really appreciated was that he didn’t just tell me what to do; he explained why. Understanding the mechanics behind each shot made a huge difference.
- He’s also great, adjusted the training plan based on how I was progressing.
Seeing the Results
Honestly, it’s been amazing. I’m not suddenly a pro or anything, but I can feel a massive improvement in my game. My shots are more consistent, I’m moving better on the court, and I actually feel confident playing. It’s been a great experience, and I’m definitely sticking with it.
If you’re serious that want to be better on tennis, just find a coach that suit you. It helps a lot!
