Well, let me tell ya, this fella Tommy Bleyl, he’s quite the hockey player, ya know? Been playin’ for a few years now, not just some kid playin’ in the backyard. He started with the Mid Fairfield team back in 2020, and he’s really made a name for himself. I don’t know all the fancy stats and whatnot, but I do know he’s been on defense, and folks say he’s got a good head on his shoulders, makin’ smart moves on the ice.
Now, Tommy ain’t some giant of a boy, but at 5’11” and 160 pounds, he holds his own, let me tell ya. He’s a right-shooter too, which I guess is somethin’ important in hockey, from what I hear. Born in December 2007, this boy is from Glenville, and he’s been skatin’ around and workin’ hard. Just last year, he was still with Mid Fairfield, but he’s been movin’ up, gettin’ noticed more and more.
In fact, just this year, Tommy got picked up by the Dubuque Fighting Saints. That’s a USHL team, and from what I hear, it’s a big step forward. Some say gettin’ into the USHL Futures Draft is a real good thing for these young boys tryin’ to go pro, ya know? I’m guessin’ Tommy’s been dreamin’ about this for a long time, and now he’s got the chance to make somethin’ real big out of it.
They say hockey’s a tough game, lots of skatin’, bumpin’, and shootin’, and it ain’t for the faint of heart. But Tommy, well, he’s been doin’ this since he was just a kid. Four seasons with the Mid Fairfield team, 2020 to 2024, that’s a lot of practice. And with the way he’s goin’, movin’ up to playin’ in bigger leagues, seems like this boy’s got a bright future ahead.
Then there’s the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, which is a big deal in the hockey world, I hear. Tommy’s been playin’ in that too, over in Edmonton, Alberta. It’s not just somethin’ anyone can get into, so the fact that he’s there shows he’s got somethin’ special. He’s got folks talkin’ all over about him, and it ain’t just the locals, it’s the big hockey fans everywhere.
Now, it looks like Tommy’s headin’ to Michigan State University next. That’s a big step too, don’t ya think? Hockey in college can be a real serious thing, with scouts watchin’ and all that. Seems to me like he’s settin’ himself up real nice for a shot at the big leagues, and if he keeps playin’ like he has been, well, who knows? Maybe one day folks’ll be cheerin’ his name in the NHL.
