Man, I gotta tell you guys about this kid, Trevor Best. This young baller is making some serious noise, and I had to see what the hype was all about. So, I started digging.
First thing I did was hit up the usual spots, you know, just to see what the word on the street was. Found out this kid’s playing for Word of God Academy down in North Carolina and running with Team Wall for AAU. Sounds legit, right?
Then I found some chatter about Arizona State University. Apparently, they’re all over this kid. He picked up an offer from them on June 11th, and the buzz is that it affected his decision. I saw a quote where Trevor said, “JQ told me I would fit there.” JQ must be someone important over at ASU, maybe a coach or something.
So, I started watching some of his games. Let me tell you, this kid can ball. I saw one clip where he just took off and threw down a nasty dunk right on some poor defender’s head. The caption was something like, “ON HIS HEAD 🤧.” Yeah, that’s about right.
- Watched some highlights – kid’s got serious hops.
- Checked out his stats – 6’0″, 160 lbs, playing combo guard.
- Read some articles – ASU’s first 2025 commit. Big deal.
He’s listed as a 2025 prospect, so he’s still got some time, but it sounds like ASU might have locked him down early. I saw something about them having one unused scholarship, so maybe they used it on Trevor. Smart move if you ask me.
I kept digging into this “JQ” guy, and it turns out he’s the coach at ASU, Bobby Hurley’s right-hand man, Jermaine Kimbrough. Apparently, he’s got a good relationship with Trevor, and that played a big part in getting him to commit. The fact that ASU’s been doing pretty well didn’t hurt either.
The Bottom Line
Trevor Best is the real deal. He’s got the skills, the athleticism, and now he’s got a big-time program backing him. I’m definitely gonna be keeping an eye on this kid. You should too.
