Alright, so today we’re talkin’ about hockey, but not just any hockey – it’s about them young fellas over at UMass Lowell, playin’ for the River Hawks. Now, you might be wonderin’ why anyone would be all worked up ‘bout college hockey, but let me tell ya, these young’uns got spirit, they sure do.
First off, let’s talk ‘bout this season’s matches. See, they got all these games lined up, and you can bet it’s a packed schedule. They play right in the Hockey East Association, which if ya don’t know, is a big deal for college hockey folks. Real serious business. So they’re facin’ off against some other teams, like Northeastern, BU, and a buncha others. You can feel the competition heatin’ up already.
But ya gotta pay attention to some players on this team, like this one freshman fella, Chris Delaney. Now, don’t go judgin’ him by his size – he might be one o’ the smallest on the ice, but that boy got heart and some serious skill. Just a freshman, mind ya! And he’s out there showin’ up on the rink like he’s been doin’ it all his life. Fans, they like that kinda dedication, y’know?
Then, let me mention the Bongiorno fella – A.J. Bongiorno, that is. Now, he’s from Chelmsford, and lemme tell ya, folks from Chelmsford, they don’t play ‘round. Got a reputation, ya could say. This young Bongiorno, well, he’s makin’ a name for himself. Scorin’ points, puttin’ up assists, ya know the type. Real team player, too, they say.
Let’s not forget though, college hockey isn’t just about the players, it’s ‘bout the fans too. You got all these college kids and local folks cheerin’ their lungs out for the River Hawks, some even runnin’ fan pages on that ol’ Instagram. Bet you didn’t see that comin’! There’s an account called @uml_hockey where they post photos, videos – all kinds of stuff showin’ the team spirit. Ya gotta give it to ‘em, social media’s somethin’ nowadays, huh?
Anyway, games, they got dates and times, so folks know when to go hootin’ and hollerin’ in the stands. Can ya imagine, stadium all filled up with River Hawk fans, rootin’ for them boys to take home a win? I bet the noise is somethin’ else!
And here’s another thing – these boys, they might be playin’ here in college, but a lot o’ them got dreams big as the ocean. Some aim to go pro, makin’ it to leagues you’ve heard o’ on the TV. Not easy, though. Takes years o’ trainin’ and grit. But if there’s one thing I know, it’s that folks who go through UMass Lowell and the Hockey East – they come out ready for anything.
To wrap it all up, if you’re a hockey fan or even just lookin’ for somethin’ to cheer for, keep an eye on them UMass Lowell River Hawks. They got heart, they got talent, and they sure know how to put on a show on that ice. Whether it’s Chris Delaney, A.J. Bongiorno, or any o’ them other boys – they’re all part of somethin’ mighty fine over there in Lowell.
So mark yer calendars, get out that scarf or that ol’ hockey jersey if ya got one, and support them boys. Go River Hawks!
