Okay, so I recently got into this whole “USA Eagles Hockey” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I’ve always been a fan of hockey, but I never really followed the national teams closely. That all changed a few weeks ago, though.
It all started when I stumbled upon some highlights of the IIHF World Junior Championships. I was just flipping through channels, and bam, there it was. The U.S. team was playing, and I was instantly hooked. These guys were good, like really good. I started digging around to learn more about the team and ended up spending hours just watching old games and reading about past tournaments. I mean, did you know the U.S. has medaled in five of the last seven World Junior Championships? Crazy, right?
Diving Deeper into the Eagles
Then, I found out about the USA Eagles 14U AA team. Apparently, they’re hosting a showcase in January 2025. I thought, “Why not check out their schedule?” I mean, these are the up-and-comers, the future stars. I started looking at their past games and found out they were the champions of some big tournaments like the Can-Am Challenge Cup in 2022 and the Big Chill Tournament in 2023. They are pretty good.
This led me down another rabbit hole – the whole USA Hockey organization. I found out that they’re basically the backbone of ice hockey in the U.S. I mean, they’ve got their hands in everything, from youth programs to the national teams. I spent an entire evening just browsing their website. It’s pretty cool to see how much they do to grow the sport here.
Getting Immersed in the Community
I even found the Instagram page for the U.S. Men’s Field Hockey Team. They call themselves the “Wolfpack” or “The Pack”. I didn’t even know we had a men’s field hockey team!
Then there was this whole thing about the USAH, which I learned stands for the Uniform System of Accounts for Hotels. It’s some accounting thing that’s apparently used in the hockey world. I’m not an accountant, so that part went a bit over my head, but it’s interesting to see how the business side of things works.

Who knows, maybe I’ll even try to catch a game in person sometime! It’s definitely a whole new world I’ve discovered, and I’m pretty stoked about it.
