Okay, so, I gotta tell you about this whole Villanova Women’s Tennis thing I got into. It all started when I was looking up some stuff about tennis online, you know, just browsing around. I was reading about the all-time greats, like Serena Williams, who is just a beast on the court. I mean, 73 career titles and 23 Grand Slam singles? That’s insane! And of course, her sister Venus too, along with other legends like Billie Jean King and Chris Evert.
Anyway, while I was down this tennis rabbit hole, I stumbled upon some stuff about college tennis. And that’s when I saw something about the Villanova Wildcats. I was like, “Villanova? What’s their tennis scene like?” So, I started digging.
Getting into the Wildcats
First, I checked out their schedule. It looked like they had some matches coming up, like the Blue and Gold Invitational and the Villanova Invitational. I thought, “Hmm, maybe I should try to catch one of those.” They were also competing in a tournament called the Annual Cissie Leary Invitational.
Then, I went to their official team page. They had the whole roster listed there, with all the players’ names and where they were from. It was cool to see the mix of people on the team. I even found out who the coaches were – the head coach, assistant coach, and even the tennis coordinator.
Social Media Deep Dive
Of course, I had to check out their Instagram, right? It’s @bigeast, and their handle is #NovaTennis #NovaNation. They post a lot of team photos and updates there. It’s a good way to keep up with what they’re doing.
Following the Team
So, I started following the team more closely. I checked out news articles and scores to see how they were doing in their matches. I found out that they’re part of the BIG EAST conference, which is pretty cool. They had 390 student-athletes on it.
It’s been fun getting into Villanova Women’s Tennis. They seem like a solid team, and I enjoy keeping up with their progress. I might even try to go to a match sometime if I get the chance. It’s always cool to see these college athletes in action. Who knows, maybe I’ll even become a die-hard Wildcats fan!
