Okay, so I wanted to check out the Endicott College hockey rink. I’d heard some good things and, well, I’m a sucker for a good hockey game, even if it’s just checking out the venue.
First thing I did was look up where the heck it even was. Turns out, it’s up in Beverly, Massachusetts. Not exactly next door, but doable for a day trip. I made sure I had some snacks and drinks packed, cause you never know how long you’re gonna be stuck in a place, and it’s better to be prepared.
Getting There
I hopped in my car and started the drive. Traffic wasn’t too awful, thankfully. Took a pretty direct route, and the GPS was pretty spot on. Finding the college itself was easy enough, big signs, you know the drill.
Then came the minor challenge, actually finding the specific area. It took a bit of a twist of fate.
Inside the Rink
I finally located the rink, walked in, and…wow. It was a lot bigger than I expected. It had a big, classic college rink, with wooden seating and everything. Very vintage look to it.
The ice looked fresh, and although there wasn’t a game going on at the moment, I could almost hear the skates carving and the pucks hitting the boards.
- The Seating: Plenty of room. They had those classic bleacher-style seats, which, okay, aren’t the most comfortable, but they give you a good view of the ice.
- The Atmosphere: Even empty, you could feel the energy. I bet this place is rocking during games.
- Cleanliness: I have to say, it was pretty well-maintained. No trash lying around, everything seemed in good shape.
I spent some time just wandering around, taking it all in. I checked out the concession stand area (empty, of course, but I could picture the lines of hungry fans). I even peeked into the locker room areas (from the outside, obviously!), imagining the pre-game jitters and post-game celebrations.
All in all, it was a cool little expedition. I’m definitely gonna try to catch a game there sometime. It’s got that classic college hockey vibe, and I bet the atmosphere is electric when it’s full of fans. Just gotta remember to bring a cushion for those bleachers next time!
