So, I got really into this whole Myron Gordon basketball thing. I mean, the guy’s a beast on the court, right? I started out just watching some highlight reels online – you know, the usual YouTube deep dive.
And man, those moves! I just got hooked, I wanted to imitate and learn his skills.
I started practicing dribbling drills. Low dribbles, crossovers, between-the-legs – the whole nine yards. I spent hours in my driveway, just me and the ball. My neighbors must have thought I was crazy, haha!
- First I practiced those basic dribbling drills.
- Then I tried to copy some of Gordon’s signature moves.
- I even tried to find a court that resembled his.
The next step was trying to incorporate some of Gordon’s signature moves into my game. It was tough, man. That behind-the-back crossover he does? Forget about it! But I kept at it, I watched videos, I slowed them down, and I tried to break down each movement.
Finding a Good Court
Then I decided I needed a better place to practice. My driveway’s okay, but it’s not exactly regulation size. So I started scouting out local courts. I checked out a few parks, and finally, I found this one court that was perfect. It had a smooth surface, good lighting, and it was usually pretty empty. This one court is perfect, not very crowded, and I can practice there well.
I started going there regularly, a few times a week. I worked on my shooting, my footwork, and of course, those dribbling moves. I’d even set up my phone to record myself so I could see what I was doing wrong. Slowly but surely, I started to see some improvement.
I’m still not Myron Gordon, not even close! But I feel like I’ve gotten way better. And it’s all thanks to getting obsessed with this guy’s game. Now, I can play on the court better than before. It’s not just about basketball, though. It’s about setting a goal, working hard, and seeing results. That’s the real win, you know?
So yeah, that’s my Myron Gordon basketball journey. It’s been a fun ride, and I’m not done yet.
