Okay, so I was trying to catch the score for the Duke vs. VT game the other day. I’m a huge college basketball fan, and these two teams always put on a good show. I knew it was gonna be a nail-biter, so I wanted to stay on top of it.
First, I pulled out my phone and opened up my usual sports app. You know, the one everyone uses. But for some reason, it was being super slow and wouldn’t load the latest scores. I tried refreshing it a bunch of times, but no luck. It was stuck. I was getting annoyed.
Then, I decided to try my laptop. I opened up my browser and went to a few different sports websites. I was clicking around, trying to find the live scores, but most of them were just showing old game results or were hidden behind some paywall. I mean, come on, I just wanted to see the score, not sign up for a subscription!
I was getting a bit frustrated at this point. So I thought, “Hey, why not try social media?” I went on a couple of different platforms and searched for the game. There were a ton of posts, but most were just people’s opinions or old updates. I scrolled and scrolled, but I couldn’t find the current score anywhere. It was like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Finally, I remembered this one forum I used to visit a while back. It’s kind of old school, but the people there are usually pretty knowledgeable about sports. I found the forum and, boom, there it was! Someone had posted the live score in the game thread. It was Duke 77, VT 67. Phew, finally!
It was way harder than it should have been to find a simple game score. But hey, at least I got to see it in the end. And it turned out to be a pretty good game, too!

It wasn’t the easiest process, but I got there. I really need to find a better way to get live scores though. Any suggestions?
