Okay, let’s talk about this hylo tennis thing I’ve been trying out.
The Problem Started on the Court
So, I play tennis quite a bit, maybe three or four times a week. Lately, especially when it’s sunny or a bit windy, my eyes started feeling really gritty by the second set. You know, like there’s sand in them. It got annoying. Sometimes my vision would blur just a tiny bit, enough to mess up my timing on a shot. At first, I just splashed water on my face between games, but that didn’t do much, maybe helped for like two minutes.
I tried some basic eye drops I found at the pharmacy, the cheap kind. They felt okay for a moment, like a splash of water, but the dryness and gritty feeling came back fast. Didn’t really solve the problem during a long match.
Giving Hylo a Shot
Then I was chatting with someone, and they mentioned using Hylo drops. Said they lasted longer. I figured, why not? My eyes were genuinely bothering me and affecting my game. So next time I was near a decent pharmacy, I went looking for it. Found a couple of types, Hylo Forte and something else. I just grabbed the Forte one, seemed like it was for more serious dryness, which is how it felt on the court.
The bottle looked a bit different, not the usual squeezy type. Took me a minute to figure out the pump action thing. You press the bottom, and a drop comes out. Felt a bit weird at first, but okay.
My Routine and How It Went
Before my next tennis session, about 15 minutes before heading out, I put one drop in each eye. It felt… thicker? Than the cheap stuff. Not sticky, just more substantial. Didn’t sting or anything.
Played for about two hours that day. Big difference. Seriously. My eyes felt comfortable pretty much the whole time. No gritty feeling halfway through. Didn’t feel the need to keep blinking hard or rubbing my eyes between points. The sun was out, bit of a breeze too, usually prime time for irritation, but it was fine.
I started doing this regularly. One drop in each eye before playing. Sometimes, if it’s a really long session, like over three hours, or super windy, I might put another drop in during a break, but usually, the pre-game dose is enough.
What I noticed:
- Less distraction from eye discomfort.
- Vision stayed clearer, especially towards the end of playing.
- Didn’t have that sore, tired eye feeling driving home afterwards.
So yeah, that’s my experience. Using Hylo Forte before playing tennis has actually made a difference for me. It just works better and lasts longer than the basic stuff I tried before. It’s become part of my pre-tennis routine now, just like stretching. Simple as that.
