Okay, so I’ve been wanting to keep better track of Evans’ tennis matches, specifically a live feed of scores and maybe some stats. I’m calling it “evans tennis live,” pretty original, I know. Here’s how I went about setting it up, a total DIY project.
The Brainstorming Bit
First, I had to figure out where to even GET the live data. I thought, “Surely, there’s gotta be some sports website that has this stuff, right?” And that is really all.
The Data Hunt Begins
I started digging around. I looked all, with no real luck at getting this in real-time, and with ease, I mean.
Putting It All Together (or Trying To)
- Step 1: Finding the info. Turned out tougher than I expected!
- Step 2: Making sense of it. Even if I found some numbers, I had to format them.
- Step 3: Displaying it…somewhere. I haven’t got a website, after all.
The Current State of Affairs
Honestly, I’m still working on it. It’s not as “live” as I’d hoped. It’s more like “evans tennis sometimes-updated.” But I did manage to cobble together something that shows recent match scores, and get it, then I can manually update the scores when I catch a match.
It’s a start, right? My plan is to keep tweaking this, maybe automate it more someday. But for now, it’s my little manual project, and it’s definitely better than having nothing to track Evans’ progress. Wish me luck on automating this thing… eventually!
