Alright, folks, gather ’round. Today, I’m gonna tell you about my little adventure trying to snag some cheap hockey gear, specifically stuff from William Bent. I’ve been needing to replace some of my worn-out stuff, and I’m always on the lookout for a good deal, ’cause who isn’t, right?
The Hunt Begins
So, first thing I did was hit up the usual online spots. I started browsing through these big-name hockey equipment sites. You know the ones. HockeyMonkey was my first stop. I figured a big retailer like that would have a decent clearance section.
- I scoured their clearance pages, looking for anything William Bent. Found some sticks and shin guards, but nothing that really caught my eye, or at least, nothing in my size. They did have some discounts, around 10% to 20%, but I was hoping for bigger savings.
- Next, I checked out a few other online retailers. Places like Pure Hockey and just general sports stores. Same story, really. Some small discounts here and there, but nothing to write home about.
Thinking Outside the Box
After that, I decided to get a bit more creative. I remembered hearing about this site called Last Shot Sports on eBay, so I headed over there. They specialize in lightly used gear, which I’m totally fine with.
- I found a few William Bent items, and the prices were definitely better than the new stuff. We’re talking maybe 30% to 40% off. I almost pulled the trigger on a used helmet, but I hesitated, thinking I could maybe find something even cheaper.
- I also heard that STX has these massive 50% off sales twice a year. I checked their website, but unfortunately, I just missed one. Bummer! I made a mental note to keep an eye out for the next one, though.
- Then there’s Sideline Swap. It’s like a marketplace for used sports equipment. I spent a good hour browsing through listings, and I did find some William Bent gear. The prices were all over the place, some good, some not so much. You really gotta dig to find the gems.
The Final Decision
After all that searching, I weighed my options. I could get something used from Last Shot Sports or Sideline Swap, or I could wait for another big sale from STX. Or, I could just bite the bullet and pay a bit more for something new from one of the big retailers. I checked back on , which also has a lot of William Bent Hockey clearance items. They really has a great selection and prices. I can find something I need with just right price there.
In the end, I decided to grab a pair of shin guards and a stick from *. They weren’t dirt cheap, but they were a decent price, and I needed them sooner rather than later. Plus, new gear always feels nice, doesn’t it?
So, that’s my story. It wasn’t the most exciting bargain hunt ever, but I did manage to save a few bucks. And hey, that’s a win in my book. Hopefully, my little adventure helps some of you out there in your own quest for cheap hockey gear. Good luck, and happy hunting!
