Okay, so I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect tennis skort. You know, one that’s cute, comfy, and actually functional on the court. I finally decided to just go for it and try making my own. Let me tell you, it was a bit of an adventure!
Getting Started
First, I needed a pattern. I spent a good hour browsing online, looking at different styles and trying to find something that looked both stylish and practical.I decided not find it, so I just start.
I measured my waist and hips, and added few inches for move easily.
The Sewing Process
I dusted off my old sewing machine – it’s been a while! – and got to work.
- I cut out the fabric pieces according to the pattern I’d drafted.
- Then, I pinned the skirt pieces together, right sides facing each other. This part always feels a bit tricky, making sure everything lines up.
- Next, I carefully sewed the side seams of the skirt.
- I repeated the process for the shorts, pinning and sewing the inseam and side seams.
- The trickiest part was probably attaching the shorts to the skirt.I inserted shorts into skirt and I sewed them together.
The Final Touches
Once the sewing was done,I do it! My own tennis skort! It is fit, and perfect.
Honestly, making my own tennis skort was way more satisfying than buying * fit me better. I felt a real sense of accomplishment wearing something I’d made myself. Plus, now I can customize them however I want! I’m already thinking about making a few more in different colors.
