Okay, so I was digging around the internet today, trying to find some old high school football stats. You know, just for kicks. And of course, the name LeBron James popped up. I mean, the guy’s a legend in basketball, but I totally forgot he used to play football too.
So I started my mission, I searched “LeBron James high school football stats” on Google. First few links didn’t really have what I was looking for. A lot of talk about his basketball career, naturally, but not much on his football days. Then I refined my search a bit, trying “LeBron James football stats high school” instead. Bingo! That got me closer.
I clicked on this one article, it looked promising. It mentioned that he only played two years of football in high school. Two years! Can you believe that? I scrolled through, and found out it was for St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. It also said something about him being a wide receiver. Wide receiver! Imagine LeBron catching touchdowns. The article was mostly about his basketball career, but I found what I need.
Then I found another page with a video. It said “Test your knowledge of LeBron James’ legendary career”, and I clicked play. It showed some highlights from his high school football games. Man, the guy was a beast! There’s this one play where he just towers over these defenders from another school, Wickliffe, it said. He looked like a giant among them.
I read that he’s turning 40 soon and still killing it in the NBA. It’s crazy. But seeing those old football clips, it really makes you wonder what could have been if he’d stuck with football.
Oh, and I also stumbled upon some random stuff about his family. Apparently, his wife, Savannah, hates being called “wifey.” And they have three kids. It’s funny how you start looking for one thing and end up down a rabbit hole of random information.
Anyway, my little internet adventure reminded me that even the biggest stars have these interesting backstories. It’s cool to see a different side of LeBron, the football player, even if it was just for a couple of years.
