Man, today I want to talk about this dude, Yu Jiahao, a young gun in the basketball world. I’ve been following his progress for a while, and I finally got to try and play like him. It’s way tougher than it looks, let me tell you.
So, first things first, I grabbed my basketball and headed to the court. This guy, Yu Jiahao, he’s huge. I’m no small guy myself, but 7’3″? That’s a whole other level. I started by just trying to visualize myself as a giant out there.
Practice
Then, I got into some drills. Tried to work on my post moves, you know, like Yu Jiahao does. He’s got this smooth way of backing down defenders. I spent a good hour just practicing that, backing down an imaginary opponent. My back was killing me, but hey, gotta push through, right?
- Started with some basic shooting drills.
- Focused on my footwork. Yu Jiahao moves pretty well for a big guy.
- Tried to keep my dribble low. Not easy when you’re pretending to be that tall.
- Practiced passing.
- Did some defensive drills, working on my positioning.
After that, I moved on to shooting. Yu Jiahao’s got a decent shot for a center. I took shot after shot, trying to mimic his form as best as I could. I watched some videos of him playing, so I tried to copy the techniques of him.
Then, I watched some of his games online. Seeing him play, it’s clear he’s not just about size. He’s got skills, court awareness. He scored a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds in one game. I studied his moves, his positioning. It’s like, he knows where to be on the court, always ready to grab a rebound or make a play. That’s something I really want to get better at.
Finally, I played a few pickup games, trying to put everything into practice. It’s one thing to do drills, but it’s a whole different ball game when you’re playing against others. I tried to be more assertive, more dominant in the paint, like Yu Jiahao. Let me tell you, it’s exhausting. I got a new respect for these professional players, especially the big guys.
All in all, it was a tough but rewarding experience. I’ve got a long way to go, but I feel like I’m starting to understand what it takes to play like Yu Jiahao. It’s not just about being big, it’s about being smart, skilled, and having a real feel for the game.
I think I’ll keep working on this “play like Yu Jiahao” thing. It’s a fun challenge, and it’s definitely pushing me to become a better player. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll be able to dominate the paint like him. A guy can dream, right?
Anyway, I wanted to share this with all of you. It’s always good to push yourself, try new things, and learn from the best. And for me, right now, that’s Yu Jiahao. He represents a group of great players in the CBA.
Alright, that’s it for now. I’m gonna go ice my knees. Peace out!
